In the biological sense, an animal, or human is one who has fully matured. When used with humans, the word adult can have meanings that are associated with legal or social notions. In contrast to "minor" or "non-adult", a legal-age adult is a person who is a an age at which they are majority. They are considered to be responsible, independent and competent. The term "major" can be used to describe these individuals. The typical age of attaining the legal age of adulthood is 18 but the definition can vary based on legal rights, country and the level of development in psychological terms.

When a human reaches full physical and intellectual maturity, this is known as adulthood. The age of adulthood typically begins when a person reaches an age that is 21. Then, after middle age (starting about 40 years old) is the time to reach old age (around the age of 60). There are three main stages of adulthood the early years of adulthood (18 up to the mid-30s) mid-adulthood (mid-30s to mid-60s) and then later adulthood (mid-60s up to the point of end of life). Physical maturation has been completed when we enter our early adulthood (20-40s) but your weight and height could be a little higher. As we grow older, we are at the highest level of physical capabilities.
